Addendum: Tiny and Narrow Button-Up Dress Shirt

I wanted to do an addendum to my previous post about the NY & Co. tiny and narrow french cuff shirt, see post HERE. I found this button-up at Banana Republic and it's as tiny and narrow as the NY & Co. one! I was pleasantly surprised at how well the fit and cut was so I wanted to share it with you ladies:)
Blouse: Banana Republic (Factory) 3/4 sleeve button-up- size PXXS (similar HERE and HERE )
Skirt: Bebe high waisted gray pinstripe pencil skirt- size 00 (similar HERE)
Shoes: Aldo patent leather pumps- size 5 (similar HERE)
Necklace: Gray multi-colored pearls (sold HERE)
Earrings: Chanel LOGO diamante earrings
Purse: Chanel Grand Shopper Tote
I just love the color of this blouse. I have nothing like it in my closet so I was really excited when I tried it on. I have never been a fan of button-up shirts until now. It just look so classy and as long as the fit is nice, it still can look feminine and professional!

This could very easily go underneath a cardigan or blazer but for this post, I opted to just pair it with my high waisted skirt to show how narrow the shirt fits.
The sleeves are too cute- they are a french-cuff style but it's in a 3/4 length which I thought was perfect for petites with shorter arms. It almost looks like a regular sleeve on petites. One thing I cannot stand is sleeves that are so long that it ruins the whole outfit.
Here are some of my button-up picks:
1. Banana Republic White Button-up - on MAJOR sale and they still have PXXS!
2. Geranium Pink 3/4 Sleeve Button-up- this is so adorable and I just love the sleeves. Still available in PXXS.
3. Theory Button-up- I am really curious to see how the fit is being that they do not have a petite line (anyone have one or similar?)
I was able to try on a button-up at H & M and the sleeves were ridiculously too long and the quality was not well made. It looked and felt super cheap. I love H & M but definitely a NO GO on their button-up tops (at least for me).
The great thing about this button-up is the length! It's short enough to tuck in without major bulkiness like most shirts I have found. Because this skirt was so high-waisted, not such a great example because there is some bunching but I didn't realize it until it was too late.
In my personal opinion, a nice button-up can instantly make you look professional. I would have loved this to have a white collar and white cuffs but I think it still looks pretty good. And for the price I got it- you just can't beat it.
Was $59.99, marked down to $29.99 plus 40% off + 15% coupon = $15.30
I have yet to try on a button-up from Ann Taylor or LOFT so I am curious how it will fit but I have a feeling it won't be this tiny.
I also got a really pretty purple button-up from the regular Banana Republic for dirt cheap so I'm sure it will be coming up in a future post. If anyone has any suggestions on other brands for button-ups, I would love to hear it because my new craze are these type of tops!

I got a couple of button-up shirts from BR a couple years back for interviews and the fit was not great (but it was the best I could find at the time). Under the suit jacket was fine, but I definitely couldn't wear them on their own because they were shapeless and nothing was fitted. I believe they said "stretch" too on the label, which I thought meant they were already cut on the small side. Maybe their current sizing is better, but luckily I was able to get some tailor-made button-up shirts so I haven't really been looking.

The high-waisted skirt looks really good on you... somehow you always look so much taller than the I know 5' we both are!

@Jenn- I totally ya about never finding button-up shirts that fit! Especially for petites with a larger bust- it can be quite frustrating!!! I hope you find one at BR outlet or regular BR that fits you. I think that's your best bet!!

@PXXS- I think the reason why the BR button-ups don't fit you is because you are much skinnier and less wide:) And how funny you think I look taller because that's what I have always thought about you! You look much taller because you are way leaner :)

I got couple shirts from BR last month (the petite non-iron shirt). They are 00P and the fit is perfect for me. I love that color on you. I don't think I have any like that color in my closet. Good find!
