Skirt: H&M - size 2 (similar here)
Shoes: Talbots- size 5 (buy here)

It was insanely windy out - hence the crazy hair in my face. My photo shoot was cut short because I didn't want my tripod and camera toppling over. That would be a disaster.

Alas, I finally get my hands on my Loft blouse in whisper white. Only to find that when I opened up the package, the entire front of the blouse had make-up on it. But wait, it gets worse! The bottom of the split neck, was completely ripped apart. Someone who had a lot of make-up on and was very careless when trying this blouse on returned it and now I am stuck with it. I was so desperate to keep it, I decided to hand wash off all the nasty stains and hand sew back together the bottom portion. I was pretty bummed since I don't know how to sew and I can't stand make-up on brand new clothes. I somehow managed to compare it to my plum colored blouse and rig it for the sake of this post. The reason why I love this blouse so much is because it doesn't pull in the chest area. If you are petite with a larger chest, finding a button-up that doesn't pull is very difficult. Because of the split neck and no buttons, you get the style of a drapey blouse w/out the peek thru hole in the bust area. For button-up blouse's, if I size up for more room in the bust, then nothing else fits (sleeves, shoulders and width).

I am having a difficult time deciding between these two colors. I like both but have to figure out which color I will get more use out of. See the vixen color on Vicky and Sydney.

I'm leaning more towards the vixen but the green ones are so cute. I got several votes on Twitter for the red, and a couple votes for the green.
Please help me decide!

I vote for the Vixen ones. I am biased because I have the same ones lol =) Cute outfit, Annie! I'm so jealous you still can go bare-legged.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe that you received that shirt in that condition! :(
ReplyDeleteBoth heels are so cute! Vixen would be my keepers! :)
oh, heck. keep both! I see why you are so torn now. They both look extremely cute on you!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd you were wondering how to style these penny loafers? Look at how great of a job you did. I am so glad you got them.
Vixen is my fave too, sorry :)
ReplyDeleteVixen is my favorite too : )
ReplyDeleteCute! You always find the best vintage necklaces and at such good prices. And I love how you made the lace vest office-appropriate. Was the white blouse final sale?
ReplyDeleteOh and I vote for the red. I think the red suede is a nicer shade than the green is.
Oh wow I really like those shoes, when I first read the title I didn't think I would. Man, I'm not sure I really like both of them, it's hard to pick!
ReplyDeleteThe blouse wasn't final sale but was completely sold out in my size:( had to stalk
ReplyDeletethe website for weeks!
I was worried that I would never find it so I put up with the make-up and torn split neck.
I really lucked out when I found the necklace at a thrift store I'd never been too:)
I can't believe they sent you a dress in that condition!!!!! :(
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job cleaning it up though...love the end result and this outfit. And I like both pairs of shoes...can I have more than one vote? :)
I chose Vixen on Twitter and I still stand by my vote!
ReplyDeletei think i prefer the Vixen color but they're both so cute!! and great job styling the cute vest -- i haven't seen it in so long and it's lovely!
ReplyDeletecute & little
So unfortunate that the blouse was damaged! All the same, it looks very pretty. Personally, I'm going to have to go with the majority - I love the vixen-colored loafer heels.
ReplyDeleteBy the by, did you hem the bottom of that skirt, or does it naturally hit you at that length?
love the lace vest! its the perfect finishing touch to an outfit. & my vote goes to the olive penny loafers! xx
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit. I like the added lace detail to the outfit. I vote for pairing the outfit with the vixen. =)

I prefer the olive.
ReplyDeletethe vest is darling! i love it :) i just recently acquired a pair of penny loafers too for $12 :D love payless.
ReplyDeleteI love these photos. I love the wind blowing your hair. So pretty! I really love your style. If I see these pieces separately, I would never thought they would go together. But they do and it's very chic!
ReplyDeleteVixen, definitely vixen.

Hmm... tough decision. I feel you'd get more wears out of the vixen color (and will probably complement your wardrobe better), but the olive is super cute and has the masculine/feminine contrast going on. Sorry I'm no help :(
ReplyDeletewow...very beautiful
ReplyDeleteI love looking at your photos! and love the interview with nelah also!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the mix of tweed and lace, that vest is soooo pretty! I love both shoes, but the Vixen will probably be more wearable.
ReplyDeleteI vote for green,Just coz it is different. You look lovely and cant believe you actually kept the top! :-)
ReplyDeleteI did hem the skirt about 4" ...it was super long! Well actually my mom hemmed it...lol
ReplyDeleteThe total length of the skirt is 18" :) Hope this helps!
I love the loafers - the vixen over the evergreen. The olive ones just look kinda drab...unless you show us how you'd ideally style it and it proves amazing.

Lace blouse, houndstooth skirt - great combo...

I would definitely go for the red ones.....perfect for fall and with winter tights too! Would you have to choose between the two though?....might be fun to keep both! Lol Sorry, not much help am I?!!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm keeping the red.....and considered keeping both but will I really get a lot of wear out of either? lol
